Let them never be stupid girls.

Let them never be stupid girls.

This image and quote remind me of the importance of mentorship. Miss Representation emphasized the notion that women must come alongside one another to improve their circumstances; but I would argue that the same holds true for men. If we are choosing to be nonconformists in this way, when we do so in a community of support the affects are much more powerful. The male student in the film was a great example of challenging the norm with his other male friends, and platforms like those are great opportunities for people of both sexes to challenge one another.

As Gloria Steinem alluded, it starts with and in us individually and from there we can influence other men and women to think differently.
