Empowering Women to Lead

I was thinking about class on Thursday, and we talked about how to empower women to want to lead. Well I was on CNN.com and noticed that they had the “Top Ten CNN Heroes of 2012.” The top five on this list are women, and seven out of the ten are women. These women are doing extremely admirable things, and they are using their own personal experiences to change their community for the better. I was thinking, another reason some women can be empowered is based off of their own experiences. Some women are empowered because they see problems that need to be fixed. These stories are truly inspirational, and I admire every single person on that list of heroes. The actions of these leaders could inspire the next generation and empower them to lead as well.

  1. Thank you for posting this! There stories of the men and women are all amazing and encouraging. They are all changing lives due to their personal experience. I want to go into the non-profit sector where dealing with human beings does not necessarily mean that you succeed every time your goal because everyone is different. But it is nice to see that they are creating change and improving people’s lives one organization at a time. This inspires me to push myself in order to achieve all of my goals and dreams because they seemed to have reached theirs.
