Susan B Anthony pummeled and arrested for attempting to vote in 1872. She was fined $100 for registering to vote.
A great woman leader and one of the reasons women are able to go out today and vote.

This image was just so striking that i could not help but copy it and add to my computer. It is such a memorable moment that was a BIG step for women even though Susan B Anthony did not think so at the time. To be able to vote is such a privilege and honor and to be honest I think that some people have just forgotten it. I come from a country, Chad, where democracy does not exist and many people who have tried to install it have died. Some women are in leadership positions but I feel as though they don’t really speak their mind for fear of punishment and the consequences that their words might entail for their families…
When I got to vote for the first time on November 6th, I could not and still can’t express the overwhelming joy and honor that I felt to be able to put a ‘say’ in who my President could be. It was just incredible!
Thank you Susan B Anthony for taking this hard step! I truly appreciate it!
