Feminism in the Real World (Not in Class)

In light of our discussions regarding feminism and equality, I found this a very interesting article.

  1. Interesting piece and perspective, written by a first-year student with something to say about the issue. I have seen the argument for and against the wage gap dissected in many ways. The challenge comes in convincing people that – even if statistically speaking there does not exist a “real” wage gap, or that fighting for pay equality actually harms women’s chances at landing jobs (I am not necessarily supporting either of those positions) – the gap is truly not about sexist practices. One could rationalize and provide statistics ad nauseam, but perception is powerful.

Thanks for this “extra” post, Megan!
