Test Blog

Hey all! I’m pretty pumped to be joining this class, though I already feel behind since I added the class after the end of classes for the week! I have previously taken Women in Politics with Dr. Barnello and LOVED the course so much I wrote my Political Science senior sem on An Equal Rights Amendment.

I really really think having women leaders is a big deal when it comes to women advancing in their respective fields, as it is always a plus to have someone that has paved the way. One of my role models is supermodel Karlie Kloss. She quit her job as a Victoria’s Secret Angel in order to go back to school and learn about coding. She even has a program called Kode With Klossy, in which she offers classes for young girls (13-18) for two weeks during the summer and teaches them the foundations of coding! She saw the need for a female leader in this field and filled the gap that was there.

  1. So glad to have you joining our class! I feel that you have a lot to offer! The little bit you added about Karlie Kloss is really interesting. In a field that is predominantly men I think it’s really important to show that women are capable of reaching goals within these fields.

  2. Hey Kelsey! Glad to have you in the class! I’ve never heard of Karlie Kloss’s story, but I love it! Thank you for sharing her story with us. It is inspiring that she left her modeling job to learn more about coding – a job that is currently mostly occupied my men!

  3. Super excited to have you join our class! I found your post to be really interesting and am excited to hear more of what you have to say in class today!
