“test post”

Yesterday I saw an advertisement for Gillette, a company that sells razors, that took a surprising turn. The advertisement showed how society supports toxic masculinity & discussed the #MeToo movement. I’ll attach the link to the advertisement, which was so inspiring and surprising to see. The commercial demonstrated ways on how us as a society can act to treat women better as a whole & how to combat the idea of “toxic masculinity”.

  1. I’m so glad that you mentioned this ad! I saw it for the first time yesterday, and I also saw some pretty intense blowback about it on Twitter from a lot of men who were upset about it. Personally, I didn’t find the ad to be targeted or rude towards men in any way, but more geared at the idea of toxic masculinity or encouraging “boys to be boys”. Furthermore, I think that anyone who was triggered by the ad or felt personally attacked by it was probably someone who was insecure or was practicing toxic masculinity, as I think the goal of the ad was to hold men to higher standards in light of the recent sexual harassment allegations etc.
