Gender Politics in MA
I heard this story while listening to NPR this morning (oh, if I had a dime for every time I prefaced a comment with that line).  This short article ties together many of the topics we have discussed in class in a meaningful “real world” way – gender, social roles, media, gender representation in politics, power, focus on women leaders’ sexuality and appearance….

The story line is also intriguing because Massachusetts has many progressive policies and laws, and a reputation as a liberal state, yet has never been represented by a woman in the Senate (and I believe as Governor either). It will be interesting to follow how the race for this Senate seat unfolds!
